Perfect Wedding Dress
25 October 2016
Nothing is more important on a wedding day than a wedding dress. Most surely most women dream of a dress that they will be wearing on the special day. I remember that I knew exactly what I want to wear on that day… I didn’t necessarily think about the dress type and colour that would suit my body shape. It simply had to be puffy…
Last Wednesday I had the pleasure to accompany my friend to try on the wedding dress. She was disappointed with her last visit in a big outlet in Manchester, and decided to have a look in a small shop in Birkdale. I have to admit it was a very happy moment. While observing the situation and taking photos, I had an opportunity to reflect on how difficult it is to find the perfect dress.
Surely the important thing is the budget. Each of us can be in a different financial situation and knows exactly how much she can spend. Obviously, personal values also play a role here. Not all of us believe that it is worthwhile to spend £ 2,000 on one evening. Some will decide on a dress worth £ 400 and rest of the money spend on wedding rings or flowers.
A –line, ball gown or maybe mermaid?
Another important point here is a dress type. We can’t complain nowadays about lack of styles. Surely the greatest influence on our decisions will have our ideas about that day but still it is worth considering whether the type of dress we dreamed of actually fits us well. It is worth to try on different styles and then make a decision.
Keep trying on and don’t give up!
Once you decide on the style, you have to try on few models. In my friend’s case the mermaid style fitted perfectly her slim body shape. It is crucial to try on many models. Some dresses even though a similar style differs from each other. Some are tight on the hips, and others had a lot of space in the bottom for the legs.
Dancing all night long…
Polish weddings are dancing-all-night weddings. You have to take one important fact into account: such a dress needs to survive all night dancing. So even though you love the dress, you might feel tired of wearing it for few hours if is very heavy and does not allow you to enjoy the special day anymore.
Play with the extras
It often happens that the dress suits us perfectly and we feel comfortable in it but there is still something missing. And now here come the extras. By adding a sleeve, strap or a belt the dress can be easily transformed into more elegant gown, making us look taller and emphasize our waist.
White, ivory or…
Colour is also a very important element and I also strongly recommend trying on dresses of different shades. White colour in some dresses will look cheap and not very posh so you should not cling to only colour.
It’s Your day!
The most important advice I think is to listen to what your heart tells you. As you probably know, mum, friends and everyone around will try to give you advice, hints and opinions but you have to feel good in this dress! This is your day. If your heart beats faster because you have the dress on and you love your reflection in the mirror, go for it! You won’t regret it!

Perfekcyjna Suknia Slubna
